Tired, exhausted, and with the expectation of being able to sleep in, I went to bed yesterday. Unfortunately, sleeping in was just a wishful thinking and I was already awake in bed shortly before 7:00 am. After some time, Chantal sneaked into my room and we made plans for today's itinerary. We didn't feel like lazing around on the beach all day. So we decided to go for the Makapu‘u Lighthouse Trail. It is considered more of a walk than a hike. But shortly after, Tony came and asked if we wanted to accompany him for bodyboarding. Difficult decision, because going bodyboarding with Tony would definitely be a lot of fun. We have already had a bellyache from laughing so much because of him.

Nevertheless, we stuck to our decision and dressed accordingly, made a small breakfast for ourselves, and ordered an Uber. However, we were able to cancel it shortly afterwards because Tony apparently goes in that direction anyway and can take us with him. Once again, top-notch service! So we set off equipped with backpacks, hats, and a camera, although the camera almost got left outside the front door. Oh, how annoying that would have been, once again not having a head for thinking.

When we arrived at the parking lot, we marched off with enthusiasm and were rewarded with a beautiful view of Koko-Head and Sandy Beach after a few hundred meters. At the next vantage point, we even spotted whales and dolphins. They seemed to be comfortable in this area and kept saying "hello" by surfacing. According to the information board, most whales can be found there from November to April. So we were lucky with the timing.

When we reached the top, we were amazed at the breathtaking view of Makapu'u Beach. It was simply heavenly!

After lunch, during which we were accompanied by two mongooses, we went to this beach and fell asleep one after the other for a few minutes. The early morning wake-up from the day before had left its mark.

After another bus chaos, where we got on the wrong bus again because the bus system is sometimes quite complicated, we arrived home several minutes later than planned.

While Yvonne, Grace, and Hope left today, Uncle Randy from Alaska came to visit us. He is Grandma's brother and also came to visit her. She is still in the hospital with no improvement in sight.

On Mondays, the classes are mixed up a bit because new students start. So this week, I was still with my original class, but with some additional students.

In the afternoon, Chantal and I took the bus to Waikele Outlet to do some shopping in the clothing stores. I found some clothes and came home with a few more items. However, on the way home, we made a short stop at Waikiki Beach to admire the sunset. So now off home, because it's already quite late and the hole in my stomach keeps getting bigger due to hunger.

Fortunately, Grandma's surgery went well and she should be coming home in a few days.

Four new students in my class. As expected, either from Switzerland or Japan... Now we have a slightly larger class again and have to get used to the new constellation.

After school, I had to go to the Apple Store again to have my phone battery tested. The first time, they only did a reset update or something like that, which didn't help at all. Now I have had the battery replaced. Hopefully, my phone will survive more than just half a day now.

Since we had to wait for our bus anyway, we spent the time in various shops along Kalākaua Avenue again, until we even missed our bus because of shopping and had to wait even longer, hehe.

When we arrived home, we are now doing our laundry, but we have to be careful not to fall into the huge washing machine drum when taking out the laundry.
