The North of Laos

11 hours drive for 210km distance - what did I do to myself ... But I was rewarded with mountains, cool temperatures (only around 30°C) and nights without mosquitoes!

Phongsali is the highest city in Laos at 1,400 meters above sea level and at the same time off the beaten track of tourism in Laos. During my 5-day stay, I counted a total of 6 tourists :p

I decided to do a 2-day trek including an overnight stay in the mountain village of Akhan. Like a colorful parrot, I was admired and when I then handed out cookies and tobacco, everyone knew me :)
