Left Hanoi today for two days towards Ninh Binh. Changed vehicles four times for round about 100 km. Felt like a 'jumping agent'. We operated very conspiratorially .... 'Come on, jump out' ... 'Come on, jump in' ... and everything 'snappy'. But never mind, arrived safely.
The area here is similar to the one in Halong Bay. That means, full of round green (... what else? ...) covered limestone hills or mountains, but without the sea around. That's why it's called Dry Halong 🤓. And something else for the nitpickers: all this was created by an earthquake, where the earth sank 'down' and the hills remained standing. When was that? Well, the Vietnamese are very flexible on that. The information ranges from 200,000 to 4,000,000 years ago. But everyone is sure that they are one hundred percent right 🤨. But never mind, the landscape is fantastic. Picturesque and pleasantly quiet.
Visited a pagoda located in a cave today, climbed a mountain with over 400 stone steps ... at 29 degrees ... and rode through the countryside as a passenger on a motorbike. The driver, because his wife was busy, took his two-year-old daughter with him, so we had to find room for three on the motorbike. The driver runs the hostel where I am staying. On the way, he bought a rodent offered by the road. I asked him if that was our dinner??? 'Noooo, I let it free.'
Hmmmm ... he didn't set the little rat-like rodent free. Not while I was with him. I wonder what happened to the little creature? Bon appétit 🥺🥺🥺.
