Over and Out.

Rakabudiswa: 10.01.2019

Last log entry: the days in the small hostel on the beach were really good for winding down. It was pretty lazy. Apart from visiting Jozani National Park with monkeys, a bike tour to a nearby beach area, and last but not least a little exploration of the peninsula around Pingwe, I didn't move much 😏.

Although the "bike" used for the tours needs a special mention, as I'm not sure if it really was one. Because round wheels, brakes, and a saddle cover should actually be part of it. But maybe I'm just being picky... 🤔🤔🤔

Otherwise, I read a lot, lazed around, ate, and occasionally went into the water. The only downside to the unbridled water play were the not only occasional sea urchins... at low tide, you could see the little devils in quite a considerable number...

Oh yes, the rock restaurant "The Rock" located off the coast, which can be reached on foot or by boat depending on the tide, was something very special. And if you're lucky like me and don't have to share the whole experience with a large number of guests due to a lack of prior reservation, you can really enjoy it there. It's pure atmosphere.

Today, I took a taxi to Zanzibar City or Stone Town. A bit chaotic, lively, not beautiful, but atmospheric and... very hot!!! At least it feels that way to me. After three hours of walking around, I'm enjoying my air-conditioned room 😨😨😨.

Tomorrow I'll be getting on the plane and heading back home via Dubai.

42 days, 30,000 flight kilometers, around 15 stops. Those are the bare numbers...

Other than that: the trip definitely exceeded my expectations... without really knowing what expectations I actually had. I gained and enjoyed an incredibly diverse range of impressions. However, I'm also really looking forward to seeing my loved ones now 🥰🥰🥰.

Well... the conclusion won't be any longer or more profound now and here, because everything first needs to "sink in", as the Westphalian aptly says. So... over and out.

T H E E N D !!!
