last day in carlsbad

Rakabudiswa: 10.03.2019

it was hot like 'hell', marcia picked me up at the airport with fresh mandarins and steve, colt & my van waiting for me at home. I had to have an extra conversation with immigration in phoenix (I'm slowly used to it) because apparently with an ESTA visa you can only stay in the USA for 90 days per year, which I quickly forgot - after a long discussion, I finally got the stamp. colt learned my name during my stay in Mexico, so now I constantly hear 'tobi sit', 'tobi come', 'tobi don't'.

we spent two weeks enjoying the wonderful California life. Tomorrow at 6 am, I will go in my van to watch dolphins, swim in the outdoor pool, watch high school volleyball games, run with the running group thanks to my pain-free Achilles tendon, exchange travel stories with friends, watch incredible college basketball games (it will be the first season I buy a ticket for), read on the beach until sunset, take short hikes nearby, have fun playing games and watching movies, never get bored of sunset walks, observe colt's progress in speech, plan for my road trip, eat fresh avocados, mandarins, and oranges from the garden. Yes, that's about it - I enjoyed it so much!

Carlsbad (or California in general) is definitely a place where one can thrive. Isn't that great?! Three seasons, meaning you can go to the beach all year round, do sports in shorts, and always have enough vitamin D. Within 1-2 hours you can be in the mountains or even in the desert. Huge sports options. Many people with a healthy and good lifestyle. Etc..

Despite a bit of a melancholy to say goodbye, we make our way, my van and I... a thousand thanks again to marcia & steve for giving me a great insight into beach life in California :)
