Day 10 - Yves 3.0

Sorry for our friends from the north, but I have to write in Swiss German:-)

Woke up at 07:15, it's already getting light at half past six. Today is a special day, the 'Yves 3.0 Day'. Marco decorated our Jucy Ju with my surprise and transformed it into the 'Happy Mobil'.

We had breakfast in glorious sunshine at our cool overnight spot. Marco was disturbed by a few seagulls, but besides that, we enjoyed the morning in Zorge - in this beautiful landscape.

Our laundry is not completely dry yet, so we're letting it dry in the car...

We drive along the coast towards Whangarei, partly on gravel roads (so-called Cheese Roads), partly on Highway 1, over steep mountain roads and along the sea. Our Jucy Car is being challenged because it keeps swerving back and forth. We made our first stop at Langs Beach, played some Bocce and switched drivers - it was very sunny and hot (about 27°) there. We would love to stay longer at this beautiful beach, but we have to keep going.

In Whangarei, we go shopping for the next few days and have a lunch break - well, it's already four o'clock.

We continue to Paihia via Whakapara and Kawakaka. We stay at a campsite, not as picturesque as yesterday and not for free, but still a nice spot. It's already a quarter to seven when we arrive. Marco prepares our dinner. See for yourself what we had...

By dinner time, it's already dark, but we are compensated with a beautiful starry sky - it's unbelievable, I can't show you in the pictures, you have to see it for yourself :-)

I've never had such an impressive and eventful birthday, I'm gladly getting older this year. Now I had to wait 30 years for it, to have a birthday in the summer - at 27° :-)
