The alarm went off at 7:20 a.m. today because we had signed up for a yoga session yesterday. Since Nina had a very short night, we decided against it and turned around again for a moment. It was time to continue our journey again, so we packed up and took our backpacks to a small stopover on the scooter after checking out. The ride with all the backpacks was wild. After playing Tetris for 10 minutes, we drove the few meters with our feet down and croaked like chickens.
We enjoyed our breakfast in good company right by the sea. The perfect rounding off was the subsequent swim in the clear salt water. We felt a bit like little children as we splashed around there. We lost track of time, suddenly it was so late that we had to bring the scooter back. Since we wrecked the cell phone holder (no, actually we didn't, as it simply fell apart), we had to temporarily repair it. Some superglue helped us with this. Lucky you! It worked and held up better than before.
Together with our backpacks we went to the new accommodation which, as already mentioned, we spontaneously booked here two days ago. The receptionist led us to our bungalow. Behind the door, the terrible smell of cigarette smoke awaited us, the sight of various hairs, mold, dirt and dust as well as bed linen that didn't smell fresh and had stains. Oof. We fell into an hour-long mental breakdown. We sat on the terrace and thought about not wanting to spend a single night here. We took our things and our courage and went back to the reception to inform them of our decision. The only thing we got was a “no refund”. Good thing we only paid for one night.
There we stood. With bag and baggage. Hungry. Sweaty. Homeless. Without a plan. We went back to our previous hotel and tried to get a room there, however they were full. The same applied to 4 other hotels. But then: light at the end of the tunnel. “Do you have a room for two?” - “I have MANY rooms!” Woohoo! So we are now sitting in an acceptable room with air conditioning, mountain views and a huge bed. Of course also a bit expensive at around 30€/night. Ronja was very frightened when she almost fell off the toilet because the toilet seat is unfortunately not attached to the bowl.. 😂 that was really funny.
Wow, we were hungry. How annoying that Nina then noticed that she had left her sunglasses in the bungalow. Our mood was really exhausted. Only the bare minimum was talked about. Equipped with the glasses, we went back to our breakfast restaurant from this morning and, in addition to delicious food, also ordered a large cocktail, which we somehow needed. We relaxed on the beach afterwards and realized how tired and exhausted we were. Unlike all the other tourists, we decided against the jungle party and opted for a beer in a beach bar, a relaxed walk on the beach and an early return to our hotel. Here everyone was able to clarify things for themselves, which is always very important to us.
The images haven't loaded for an hour, so we're giving up and trying again tomorrow. There's hardly any anyway. We're trying to sleep now, let's see what tomorrow brings.
