It was actually quite unlikely that I would be able to do something like this in the foreseeable future. I am very aware that without my little personal miracle I would not be here, and it has also been the first real challenge since then. Since I've been here, almost every day has been a struggle, sometimes more, sometimes less. You are completely on your own, you can't always control everything, and you are very dependent on external factors that may not necessarily align with your own condition.
There are times when it is really tough. There are moments when you wonder why you are actually doing this. Sometimes the journey is hell. Sometimes the journey is a battle and you don't like the destination at all. You learn to redefine your limits, seek help, and deal with the consequences of your decisions. With enough time, you can counteract many things, but not everything.
And then, eventually, there comes a moment when you realize that every step you take, every meter you drive, and every village you see is a success. When you realize that you are still there. That you have somehow arrived or are still moving forward despite everything. And that is almost even better than the many incredible places you get to see. It's incredibly challenging, but it's worth it. It's so worth it.
