So my dear ones,
last weekend another completely unplanned road trip happened.
David wanted to fly from Wellington to Queenstown to go snowboarding in QT. When he arrived in Welli, he called me and said he had forgotten his ID and driver's license.
Wellington is 6/7 hours away from Mount (my current home) and we decided to drive towards him.
So we set off to meet David at a gas station to give him his things back.
We were there for a while, had a cup of tea and all that...
When our paths separated again, Lisa and I decided to sleep somewhere at a campground and drive back during the day to see more of NZ.
By the way, I met Lisa about 5 weeks ago and found a great friend in her.
So we chose a campground in Taupo to spend the night in the car.
Fortunately, we had a mattress, blankets, and pillows in the car and survived the night well.
The next morning, we drove into town for breakfast.
By the way, it was quite funny because a man stood next to me and said he was parking here now (pedestrian), which led to a nice conversation and I told him that I felt like having pancakes, so he recommended a nice place to us where the pancakes were really great.
Anyway, we checked out the following things...
#LOVETAUPO
LAKE TAUPO
LAKE TAUPO

BY THE WAY, IT IS THE LARGEST LAKE IN THE COUNTRY. A CRATER LAKE OF A COLLAPSED VOLCANO ABOUT 26,500 YEARS AGO.

CRATORS OF THE MOON

This weekend we celebrated Christmas. No, it is not customary to celebrate Christmas twice a year here, but this hostel does it anyway.
Christmas is celebrated here in summer, so this hostel wants to celebrate in winter as well. Although it feels like summer here anyway.
Anyway, I had a lovely second Christmas and am now enjoying my day.
I still have exactly two weeks left in New Zealand and I'm trying to make the most of my time here.
Big hugs to all of you.
Yours, Miri βΊοΈ
