This morning, we all struggled quite a bit to get out of the oh-so-comfortable beds😅 the original start was planned for 08:30, but we only just crawled out of our rooms... 😁 since we had no time pressure today (the accommodation was already booked), we didn’t stress ourselves and took the morning a bit more leisurely.
Today was by far one of the most beautiful stages so far. The path wound down from A Armenteira along a small stream through the forest. It looked enchanting, filled with large moss-covered stones, fallen trees, and small to medium-sized waterfalls... simply a dream 🙂
After our first short break, it started to rain - but we weren’t bothered at all, as the landscape captivated us so much.
Upon reaching the valley, the small stream eventually flowed into a slightly larger river, but the path continued along its side.
After about 12 km (half of the distance), we took another break and enjoyed the snack we had bought yesterday and prepared this morning.
Then we walked alongside the river for a while before tackling another smaller hill. For the first time since the first days, I felt really fit again today; my legs and feet held up quite well (except for the last few kilometers, which became a bit tough and sluggish).
A few kilometers before the finish, the donkey invited us to a short break and a photo session. Afterwards, we headed straight to the beach, which we followed for a while until the bridge to Vilanova de Arousa led us to our accommodation.
Noah, Ronja, Simon, Arturo, and I then quickly ran back to the beach to take the obligatory jump into the sea. It felt even colder than the pool yesterday. 🥶
Afterwards, we took a hot shower to warm ourselves up. Once we were all ready, we finally went to dinner, this time at the 'normal' Spanish time aka 8 PM. There were all sorts of delicacies from the sea (and more).
After dinner, we walked to a small festival that was just a few meters away. The live music from the soundcheck sounded pretty good. Unfortunately, the band before hadn’t quite been our taste ('it was like taking the Batman song and turning it into a band'), so we returned to the accommodation after about an hour and listened to some music there.
Now I really need to sleep because the boat departs at 8 in the morning.
Buenas Noches! 😴
