The Temples of Angkor. The largest temple complex ever built. Over 1000 years old, survived generations, wars, and two religions, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and span over 400km2 of land. The first temples were built in the 9th century.
Impossible to see it all in one day and definitely not enough to comprehend it.
Personally, I liked the temples Ta Prohm and Preah Khan the most. Therefore, I recommend doing the 'small tour' backwards if anyone wants to do it. Angkor Wat was impressive, but unfortunately, there were too many people there. A day tour with the tuk-tuk should not cost more than 20 US dollars. Don't get ripped off and don't accept any of the tour guides that are everywhere. Reports about the temples can be found on the internet or in books. The guides usually don't know much about the temples anyway.
Throughout my entire journey, this is what has impressed me the most so far. I couldn't stop being amazed for 7 hours. No wonder the temples have been chosen as filming locations for many movies and games. Including Tomb Raider.
But see for yourselves!
