Nantes - not quite saint - nazarire

Rakabudiswa: 10.05.2024

First of all: today not everything went according to plan

the good news: we enjoyed it anyway :-)

After spending a cold night (2-5 degrees), we got up at six o'clock and prepared the muesli.

Then we set off for Blois by car and bike. Luckily the parking lot was free and actually designed for people like us, i.e. for bike tours.

After we packed everything, we set off on our bikes.

The church was very nice to visit and we also had time for a coffee and a brioche. We also bought a delicious baguette for lunch.

When we arrived at the station, we had to wait a while until we knew which platform we were supposed to be on. But we had plenty of time and there was an exciting circular bridge to get to the platform. There was also a lift. So everything you would expect on a tourist bike tour like this. On the train we had a delicious baguette for lunch and a lot more.

When we arrived in Nantes, we noticed that we couldn't take the bus over the bridge in Saint-Nazaire, as it only runs from July onwards. But that didn't bother us. So we set off from Nantes by bike and headed towards Saint Nazaire. As it was already three in the afternoon, we didn't make it all the way to the sea. On the way, we had a zviere and enjoyed the beautiful meadow landscape.

We found a nice campsite and, since we didn't have time to go shopping, a nice restaurant too.

We ordered two hamburgers and fries and a salad. The salad would have been enough for a third person, but we ate it all :-)

Now we are enjoying the warmth. During the day it was up to 26 degrees and sunny.

We hope for a warmer night and are looking forward to going to the sea tomorrow.
