01.02.2020 - Tag 38 - Honolulu, Hawaii/USA

No, I didn't make a mistake with the date. It's already Day 38, but still February 1st. We have traveled back in time. So our plane was like a time machine... Greetings from H.G. Wells 😉. The International Date Line made all this possible, which is why we landed almost 13 hours earlier than when we took off. Crazy, right? 😃

Unfortunately, we couldn't sleep on the plane because of the continuous crying of two babies. Neither the parents nor the grandparents managed to calm the children down for a second. Which didn't bother the family too much. I actually wanted to give them the tip with a bottle of Wick-Medinait each, but Brigitte didn't like my idea. However, I don't even know what Wick-Medinait means in Chinese. Oops... I accidentally revealed the nationality again 😉. The hour it took to go through immigration at the airport also contributed to us arriving at the hotel pretty tired.

Fortunately, even though we were way too early, we immediately got our room, which we were initially very happy with, but Brigitte soon noticed that the proximity to the elevator was acoustically suboptimal. So she got us a bigger and much nicer junior suite on the 16th floor, for a small extra charge 👍☺️.

Afterwards, we went to the Harley-Davidson rental shop, which is right around the corner, and reserved 2 mopeds for us for the day after tomorrow 😍. In the evening, we ended our first evening in Hawaii 🌺 in a proper American sports bar with burgers and fries. And for those who are thinking of coming here... there is beer in Hawaii 😂😂😂.
