Day 9 + 10 Khao Sok National Park

Rakabudiswa: 22.10.2017

Or: The long way to Khao Lak....

The last night in our beautiful house on Koh Lanta, the cat was even allowed to sleep in bed with us... The next morning we set off very early, the plan was to arrive at Khao Sok National Park around noon... This plan did not work out 🙈🙈🙈.

Our navigation completely failed to find our accommodation, Google Maps had the same problem, and there were no signs either. Our drive took a whole 3 hours longer than planned...and then we found our hostel, surrounded by jungle! Breathtakingly beautiful! Our plans to somehow get into the park did not work out for that day, so we went to bed early and listened to the cries of the gibbons as we fell asleep.

For the next day, we had originally planned to continue on to Khao Lak, but we still wanted to see something of the national park, so we had to change our plans...

Admittedly, we didn't make it into the park itself, but the owner of our resort arranged a great tour for us, which allowed us to experience a bit of the nature park feeling and also moved us towards Khao Lak. The result was overwhelming!!

We started with a raft tour on the Klong Sok, past high mountains, caves, and lots and lots of greenery. The gibbons in the trees screamed again 🐒.

The next stops were a viewpoint, which offered a great view of the national park, and a waterfall, where we could cool off our feet.

And then we actually went bathing with two elephants! 😍 The owner had told us where to go beforehand to make sure the elephants were well taken care of. The animals were very calm and let us touch and feed them without any problems. The water in the river was so warm that the kids used it for swimming even after the elephants finished bathing.

We could keep our swim trunks on because our last stop was a bath in a hot spring, which was quite pleasant despite the heat.
