It is June 2nd and we have completed the long journey to Tallinn. 140 kilometers in 3 days and only one day the weather was on our side.
After Märjamaa, as mentioned in the previous post, we left the highway behind. Until our next stop in Kohila, we drive on country roads, passing marsh areas, streams, deep forests and never-ending fields with dandelions and other flowers that I probably last saw as a child. Cranes stroll across the fields, we no longer bother counting the countless storks. In Ragla, a community of 5,000 inhabitants, we take a short lunch break by the stream and get some coffee and fries for the kids from the nearby village restaurant. However, they are too excited to eat, as the professional fire brigade of Ragla is also enjoying their lunch break at the 'Krantsi Kõrts' and they must of course closely observe the departure of the fire trucks.
In the evening, we arrive at the TOHI distillery in Kohila. Initially, just to spend the night at the hotel of the same name, but when it turns out that gin is produced here instead of schnapps, we naturally also sign up for the tasting including a tour of the production rooms.
Full of anticipation for Tallinn, we pedal vigorously on Thursday and reach the capital of Estonia around noon. The rain subsides, but we still split up in the afternoon: the boys want to go to the swimming pool, the girls want to go sightseeing with Kir Royal and cake as a finale.
Before we take the ferry to Finland on Saturday, we'll check in again. Tomorrow, we'll first conquer the castles, palaces, and city walls. Varsti näeme - see you soon!
