I got up early in the morning and took the ferry to the mainland. Luckily, there was no more rain predicted for the day. I arrived at the hostel around 2:00 PM, but unfortunately, I couldn't check in yet. So, I spent the rest of the day and went to Stanley Park. The park, which covers over 400 hectares, is the largest urban park in Canada and the third largest in North America. I decided to abandon my original plan of walking around the park once I realized how late it was. Since it gets pitch dark at around 4:30 PM and the paths are not well illuminated, I chose a route of about 7 km. Along the waterfront, I saw sea lions popping their heads out every now and then. Afterwards, I went back to the hostel, where there was a movie night in the evening. We watched "Dumbo" with many other backpackers, including many Germans, and ended the evening with a few beers.
