18.10.19 - 21.10.19 Jeonju

Objavljeno: 22.10.2019

Very happy to be reunited, we embraced each other on Friday morning at the airport in Seoul. Although we talked almost every day, there was a lot to catch up on, and the fatigue of the long flight for Lea and the restless night for Mathias were forgotten for the time being. Since we didn't want to stay in Seoul, we made our way across the city to the bus station, where a bus would take us south to Jeonju. We fell asleep during the three-hour bus ride. Around three in the afternoon, we arrived at our accommodation for the next three nights, quite exhausted and hungry, where a traditional futon bed awaited us. Before we finally went to bed, we had a traditional soybean rice soup in Jeonju.

We slept through the rest of the day and were ready to explore the traditional Hanok Village in our neighborhood the next day. The information in the guidebook that it is very touristy was not a lie and was probably reinforced by Saturday.

For lunch we had a delicious Bibimbap (rice with various toppings), which Jeonju is also famous for, in a very popular Bibimbap restaurant. For the first time, Lea used her photographed Korean request to leave out the egg and meat and achieved good results.

After lunch, we took a detour over the river, where we used the great stone crossings that are everywhere and discovered another great swing.

So we spent the day relaxing to satisfy Lea's need for sleep. The next day we started with a 4km walk to a vegan restaurant that promised us a great buffet, only to find out that contrary to our information, it was closed every 3rd Sunday of the month... what bad luck. But at least we saw many new parts of the city and eventually found something delicious to eat. After taking another afternoon nap, we took another walk through the Hanok Village, which has a lot of charm in the dark.
