On the morning of 11.7.22 we drive from our small pitch just outside Trondheim about 15 minutes into the city. We actually find a free parking space below the Kristiansten Fort. From the fortress with free admission you have a great view over Trondheim. We continue straight to the Gamle Bybro, a beautiful old bridge from which you have the best view of the colorful houses by the water. Around the next bend is the Nidaros Domkirke, the largest medieval building in Scandinavia. The facade of the Gothic cathedral is adorned with countless sculptures of biblical figures, clergy and kings of Norway. In the Archbishop's Palace next door, there is a summer festival taking place, where, among other things, the restorers demonstrate how they create these sculptures. We continue through the city center to the Stiftsgården. This is Scandinavia's largest wooden palace, which today serves as the official royal residence in Trondheim. We return to our car through beautiful shopping streets.
Trondheim was supposed to be just a short stop for us, because we still have a long way to go to the north of Norway...
