So it's time for another update.
My flights went smoothly, although I had to hurry at London Heathrow as I had only one hour to transfer. To make matters worse, I had to unpack all my carry-on luggage because the nice gentleman had seen something suspicious (but it was just the lock for the lockers at the hostel).
I then swapped seats on the plane with a grandmother who wanted to sit next to her daughter and two young grandchildren. Both of them thanked me a thousand times and gave me many helpful tips for my stay in Canada, as the daughter had moved from Germany to Canada.
Finally arrived at Calgary airport, my backpack was one of the first to appear on the baggage carousel. Now I just had to make the final journey to my Airbnb. I treated myself to a taxi for this part of the journey as it was already a bit later than planned.
The Airbnb is a bit outside of Calgary, but directly across from a Real Canadian Superstore, which also has its advantages.
Luckily, the weather is better than I expected. Last Tuesday there was a snowstorm that brought 30cm of fresh snow. There's still snow on the ground, but not on the roads and the sidewalks have been cleared.
