Hello everyone
Today at 11 am we picked up Roman and Tiziana and headed to the 'Grand Cenote'. Peter and Jennifer had praised this cenote so much that we really wanted to see it.
The first thing we noticed was that it was extremely crowded! We thought about coming back later, but decided against it. We paid the entrance fee, showered, and stored our luggage in a locker. We were given life jackets, which were mandatory to wear, and then we were ready to go :)
The cenote was really beautiful and the crowds were mostly well spread out. There was a cave that Kevin and I wanted to dive into. Secretly, we took off our life jackets and dived in. But as soon as we resurfaced, we were whistled at by a kind of lifeguard and told that we had to wear the life jackets... so stupid... We swam around a bit more and explored the cenote - with life jackets. There were turtles everywhere, which we really liked!
After a while, we got cold and decided to go to a restaurant for some food. It was really delicious and the location was super cute!
We considered going to a water park, but since it only had three more hours of opening time and had a relatively high entrance fee, we decided not to go.
Roman and Tiziana came with us to our accommodation and we spent a relaxing evening by the pool.
Now it's 7:30 pm, they have taken our car back to their hotel, and Kevin and I are enjoying the mild temperatures on our balcony.
We will check in again tomorrow ;)
Take care!
