Soda!
It's Sunday, so off to church with you sinful heathens, that's what grandma always said, and because that still rings a bell in the unwashed ears of the heretical Gaijin, well, he went on a pilgrimage to a cathedral today.
More precisely, that of Saint David.
A beautiful, huge Norman complex, something like that simply has its charm, the old heretic has to admit.
No baroque flourish can compete with that.
This is now the 20th entry and it is a nice, round number, as the grumpy scribbler finds, and that is it for the scratching again.
It was nice for the unworthy traveler to Ireland (especially the west), because what is offered here for the dull eye is more than worth a trip.
So yesterday we completely circumnavigated the green island and we are now taking the ferry back to Wales and then continuing on to Dover on our noble horse. But we are not quite going home yet, because the dishonorable Gaijin would like to explore the Ardennes and the Vosges, because there seem to be a few nice, winding asphalt strips here that the unworthy traveler is waiting to drive on.
So the Berta will be able to drive the tired travellers around for a few more days and snuggle up to a few curves.
He will never write about it, because on the way back he would rather concentrate on the asphalt than look for good, fine motifs for his most beautiful, cleverest, cuddliest reading circles in the world, and so in France he will actually only take a few sharp, sweeping bends and turn the throttle a little, but not too much, because the fines are quite expensive there...
And the traveling rascal already knows that the smart, grey, asphalted French women can do something!
Another nice detail that the person who was unnecessarily present noticed about the English and Irish motorcyclists: They all greet you, but there is a nice difference, because while the speeding Irishman raises his paws to wave at you as he passes, the English gentleman, or your ladyship, tilts his helmet almost imperceptibly but with dignity, just as the nobles on horseback would do.
So the dishonorable Gaijn finally thanks his reading darlings for accompanying him, hopes that he was able to conjure up a few smiles on your pretty faces with his stories, that he provided some entertainment now and again and wishes everyone wonderful, long and interesting journeys.
Bye with Ü!
Gaijin out!
