Day 26 Franz Josef Hot Pools & Okarito Beach

The rain continues unabated today, drive to Okarito Beach on the Tasman Sea, the glacier is less than 20 km from the sea, it used to extend directly into the sea. At the beach, you could once again admire the impressive spectacle of the waves of the Tasman Sea, even though the weather was not optimal.

On the way (Forks Okarito Road), there is a small hiking trail through the rainforest to a viewpoint, where on a clear day you can see the sea and 3000 m high mountains, unfortunately not today.

In the afternoon, relax in the Glacier Hot Pools with pools of 36° - 40° warm water. Simply amazing to have the cold rain from above and the nice warmth from below. https://www.glacierhotpools.co.nz
