I was excited to go to the national park today, which is nearby. It is one of the oldest and perhaps one of the most beautiful in Chile. There are said to be the oldest trees in the world. So we drove the 16 km in 40 minutes along a gravel road, similar to the one in Nepal. When we arrived, we saw the sign serrado, which means closed, once again. Unfortunately, that wasn't indicated anywhere as usual. Since this wasn't the first time it happened to us, I always check the website beforehand, but I can also skip that. I tried to persuade the park ranger if we could take a quick look at the trees, but the preferential treatment that we often enjoy as foreigners didn't work with her. By the way, the park was closed because there are forest fires raging about 400 km away. Plan B was quickly found and we went to the lake. There, the children were allowed to have fun on a bouncy castle-like structure in the water and on a ring that was pulled behind a boat.
