After a tiring 10-hour flight, we finally landed in Bali. We went through passport control, retrieved our luggage, and then went to the exit. There were so many people waiting at the exit to pick up their loved ones, and we were constantly asked if we needed a taxi. We ended up going with an older gentleman to his taxi. He drove us to our hotel. The first impression, after getting very little sleep, was overwhelming. So many people, chaotic traffic with no rules. About 90% of the vehicles were scooters, sometimes carrying up to 4 passengers. The hotel felt like luxury to us after 10 weeks of living in a car/camper.
On the first day, we took a taxi to Seminyak. We visited various markets and shops there. We walked to the beach and enjoyed the sun. Then we treated ourselves to a delicious breakfast right on the beach at a restaurant. For lunch, we went to a spa and had a fish foot treatment where the fish eat away the old skin. In the evening, we had a nice dinner at the hotel.
Today, we went to Kuta. We also visited the markets there and went to the beach. We had a delicious breakfast and treated ourselves to a back massage in the afternoon.
