Wilsons Promontory National Park

Objavljeno: 25.11.2017

For 3 days, 4 boys (3 French and 1 from Bangladesh) went to Wilsons Promontory National Park. Equipped with two tents and a rental car, we finally started on Tuesday morning. Along the way, we bought groceries for $120 - for only 2.5 days... Boys! After a three-hour drive, we finally arrived at the national park. First, we explored the campground and set up the two tents where the boys would sleep - I got to have the car :) Then, we took a walk to the beach and climbed up a rock wall (we definitely wouldn't have done that with a group of girls). We had very interesting conversations and took great photos. Back at the campground in the evening, the boys "cooked" on the barbecue - hot dogs and burgers. Delicious! The next day, our meals were prepared on the barbecue again. The boys discussed for a while who gets to cook - I decided to stay out of the discussion (I didn't want to volunteer for it - there were 4 others who really wanted to do it ;) ). On our second day, we hiked up a mountain (about 8 kilometers round trip). In retrospect, we found out that it was a rather challenging trail - we noticed. But once we reached the top, everything was forgotten. The view was beautiful and the feeling of being on top of the world was just amazing! Of course, we took many photos here, including a group photo. After that, we slowly walked back towards the car.
Then we went to the beach - Whisky Beach. The three French boys wanted to swim so they packed their swimming gear (it wasn't particularly warm - otherwise, I would have joined them). As I said, I hadn't planned on swimming, so I didn't bring any swimwear. But when the boys ran into the water, I also felt like swimming and ran into the water in my clothes. I actually just wanted to get my legs wet... In the end, I was completely soaked and of course, I didn't have any spare clothes with me. So a short time later, I went back to the car where I could change (my suitcase was in the car - convenient!).
Then we visited two other beaches, but we didn't swim there. We were also at the beach on the last day.
By the way, I actually spent my first night in the car - but not alone as planned. One of the French boys slept in the driver's seat while I made myself "comfortable" in the passenger's seat. For some reason, the car was already taken by two French boys on the second night, so I had to sleep in a 1-person tent with the boy from Bangladesh (which is definitely better than sleeping under the stars with spiders and snakes ;) ).
