Zweisam on Koh Rong Sanloem

We got up early in the morning and headed to the speedboat dock, which was only 200 meters away from our accommodation.
When we arrived there, the drama continued. The boats were not running due to high waves. Fortunately, we had bought our tickets from Speedferry Cambodia. Their boats are big enough to sail even in rough seas.
M'Pai Bai on Koh Rong Sanloem shouldn't be a problem either. Not even when we wanted to board the boat. Until a grumpy European, who worked for the ferry company, unfriendly told us that we had to go to Koh Rong first and maybe, at 16 o'clock we could take the boat to M'Pai Bai. But only if the sea calms down. We smelled another tourist trap and resisted. After we were shouted at, we gave in to our fate. The sea was rough and my husband survived thanks to a motion sickness tablet, next to a vomiting Asian.
On Koh Rong, we put pressure on the ferry crew and half an hour later they brought us to M'Pai Bai with the next speedboat. They couldn't understand the decision from the mainland either.

If you want to party all night, Koh Rong is the place to be. Simple, relaxed and romantic island life can be experienced on Koh Rong Sanloem. No roads, no cars, the lights go out at some places at midnight, and above all no ATMs and credit card payments possible. So bring enough cash!
In M'Pai Bai, we checked into the Blue Moon Bungalow Resort and spent our time there swimming, lying on the beach, playing cards, building sandcastles and enjoying very delicious food.

In the end, we could have stayed a few more days.
