Today we were in Stanley Park. We parked our car centrally in the parking lot of the park railway. That was also our first stop: a ride on the park railway. During the ride we were told a bit about the park and its animals. For example, that the squirrels use the fallen trees as highways through the park... We also saw squirrels ;-)
Then we went to Beaver Lake and walked around the lake for about 1 km. The lake was heavily covered in water lilies, which were in great bloom. We saw a family of geese waddling along on the way and spotted dragonflies and a crane by the lake.
Then we headed towards the sea and along the sea. The next stop was a water park where the girls played. After that we continued towards the lighthouse and the cannon, which goes off every evening at 9 p.m. with a loud bang (it said so - Juliane immediately asked why they do that? It scares the animals). During the tour we had a great view of the Vancouver skyline. After a detour to Totem Park we went back to the car and had covered almost 8 km.
Finally, we drove to the viewing point at the Lions Gates Bridge.
What was well done was that there were separate paths for pedestrians and cyclists. Cyclists and cars were also only allowed to drive in one direction across the island.
