On Sunday, I went to a Wildlife Park with Johanna, Leonie, and Katharina. Johanna and Leonie met Katharina last week when they took a day trip to the Mornington Peninsula National Park together. Katharina has a car and picked us up in Brighton. We drove for about 1 hour until we reached the park. I was really looking forward to the day and was excited to see what awaited us.
Once we arrived, we had to pay the entrance fee and then we were ready to go. The first thing we saw were many different birds, which didn't interest us so much, but as we continued, we came to the koalas. They looked so cute and soft. Unfortunately, we couldn't touch them, only observe them from a distance. If you wanted, you could pay an additional $20 to touch the koalas and take photos with them, but that was too expensive for us.
Next, we watched an animal show where various animals were introduced and information about them was shared. We saw different birds, like an owl or a cockatoo, an animal that looked similar to a rat but much larger and cuter, and then there was a dingo who eventually got tired and found a dead rabbit in the bushes.
After that, we finally went to see the kangaroos. At the entrance, we bought food with which we could attract and feed the kangaroos. We mainly saw small wallabies and only a few large kangaroos. Some of them were easily attracted by the food, so we could feed and pet them by hand. Their fur was really soft and it was a cool feeling to pet a kangaroo.
In the end, Leonie decided that she did want to pet the koalas and take photos with them.
After that, we made our way back home.
