Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach - it only gets further north for me on my journey home! There are palm trees everywhere, it is warm (around 30 degrees) and there is a light wind. The place is purely a tourist resort, it serves as a starting point for trips to the Whitsundays. Somehow it's like a little shooting man here. There are many bars and pubs and it gets really loud here in the evening. But it's also small and tranquil (at least during the day). There are huge luxury yachts in the harbor, and my apartment would fit in several of them. The beach is nice to look at, but there's no one in the water here either. There is a bathing area right on the beach - a free outdoor pool, so to speak.

I returned my car today. It was a nice car. At first glance in Brisbane I thought: "What am I supposed to do with such a big car!" However, up here and in rural areas in general, my car was the smallest 😅. Tomorrow the journey continues...
