Singapore - I'm lost for words.

We had to digest yesterday's day first 🙈. When we left the hotel in the morning, we looked at each other and I blurted out: How absurd is the air here🤭? Help, 99.99% humidity and 40 degrees, no, it was a catastrophe😖! Hm, we had planned a lot for yesterday. First, we wanted to visit Chinatown. I told Daniela, let's walk a lot, then we'll see the most🙄! After the first 30 meters, I turned into a shade runner and took every air conditioning that offered itself to me. People might have thought I had lost it 😶. But I don't care! I was exhausted after 30 minutes. I looked at Daniela, change of plans!!!! Buy metro tickets and ride as many routes as possible with them 🤨! We continued to Chinatown by subway. I have to say that in the entire MRT building, as well as in the subway, the air conditioning is running and everything is cooled down to freezing cold 🐧. In the subway, I was always dressed warmly, I looked like someone going on a skiing holiday ⛄️and then taking everything off outside. 🤨Annoying.

What should I write about Chinatown in Singapore??? It's a Chinatown 5* deluxe. I clearly missed the flair that still prevails in NY: a bit more grubby, a bit more hectic and louder on the streets. But here, everything is clean and almost sterile 😷!

What we noticed when we arrived in Singapore is that everything, or let's say very much, is forbidden. Everywhere you look, you discover a prohibition sign. We made fun of it and wondered what else could be forbidden.

Well then, from the 5* China we went to Marina Bay. Here stands the second largest Ferris wheel in the world, an insane hotel which has an infinity pool on top, with a bomb view. This whole area is surrounded by water. It looks like a slightly larger harbor basin. Restaurants are located along the promenade and behind them, the gigantic skyscrapers stand. Banks, companies, hotels, etc. reaching into the sky 🏙. Everyone wants to be the tallest tower, at least that's how it seems. Yesterday it was too much for me and I just wanted to shower and go to bed. I was disappointed and the air 🤭 was crying.

This morning we decided to take the metro more and give the city a second chance. First, we visited the Botanic Garden. Yes, it was nice, but all these signs everywhere, don't do this, don't do that. Terrible. Of course, everything is spotless and that's nice and should stay that way, but the signs and cameras everywhere are something to get used to. Due to the heat, we took the shortcut in the park and took the MRT to Little India. We had imagined it differently, but we stocked up on plenty of spices. That was awesome.

After that, we went to the Ferris wheel. We definitely wanted to take a ride with it 😁. One complete rotation takes 30 minutes. We sat in the cabin and what can I say, it was gigantic. The view was amazing. We could see all the way to Malaysia 👀. So, the ride was my highlight in Singapore so far. After that, we walked along the promenade until it got dark. At exactly 8:00 p.m., a great laser show started in the harbor basin, which was also very impressive 😊. This show takes place twice a day for free. We found it very unusual.

Completely overwhelmed by all the impressions and prohibitions 🚫, we took the MRT back to the hotel and are processing it now. But with all the prohibitions, it must be admitted that everything here is spotless, there is no garbage or cigarette butts anywhere! Everything is super stylish and futuristic. Nobody shouts, abuses or begs. The country has developed from a developing country to one of the richest in the world within a generation (since gaining independence in the 1960s)... that is very impressive!
