Although we had originally decided against a trip to Paris and against the very popular Disneyland (we were there less than two years ago), we ended up there because of the weather. While it was cold and rainy at the Atlantic, Paris was supposed to be spoiled with clear blue skies. So the decision was easy for us. A campsite in the green heart of Paris, the Bois de Bologne park, and a visit to the Jardin d'Acclimatation there showed us a completely different and unknown side of Paris. We visited the amusement park on a Monday morning and were practically the only ones there, except for one or two school classes, a few grandparents with their children who are not yet of school age (wait a minute, France doesn't even have compulsory schooling!), and a few lost adults. I found the entrance fee of € 20 for the four of us reasonable, but you also have to add the costs for the individual attractions. The single price is € 2.90, but we bought 15 attractions for € 35 in a package and that was completely sufficient. The rides are beautifully designed and very attractive for children up to about 12 years old, but probably 'uncool' afterwards. To complete our visit to Paris, we then cycled to the Trocadero (which was also a new experience, cycling through Paris - quite different from Amsterdam) to combine the best crepe in the city with the best view of the Eiffel Tower. The next day, we visited the Palace of Versailles (only from the outside) and the accompanying park by bike and electric scooter. Conclusion: Paris is always worth it!
