Ettlingen Sternlesmarkt

Christmas market on December 26th, 2023

Surprisingly, in Baden Württemberg there are also after December 24th. still Christmas markets. Maybe it's like that in other places too - I personally only know a few in BW.

This includes, among other things, the Ettlingen “Sternlesmarkt”, which we visited today around lunchtime. Immerse yourself once again in the smell of roasted almonds, mulled wine, chocolate and of course bratwurst and fries.

This market often offers things that are only available here from the region. Whether it's the home-made butter, the game specialties from a butcher in Baiersbronn, the bratwurst from a supplier in Völkersbach or various things from a distillery in Gengenbach and the skins of various breeds of sheep (I find Gotland sheep from the Black Forest very fascinating), self-knitted socks for a good cause , gemstones and and and. It was definitely worth it for the traders today as at least it wasn't raining.

We left the market with some delicious things and strolled through the alleys of Ettlingen's old town again. Surprisingly, it wasn't deserted there either, as expected. The market also attracts visitors who later move to the warming rooms of the restaurant.
