New Adventure: Fiji Islands

Hello,

our alarm clock rang today at 9 o'clock, because we had to leave our Airbnb at 10 o'clock. Afterwards, we ordered an Uber, which took us to the airport 15 minutes away.

Arriving there, we waited for about half an hour until check-in opened. After we dropped off our luggage, we went straight through security, because we were getting really hungry. We decided to have breakfast at the airport. We looked for McDonald's, but there was none at the airport, so we couldn't get our breakfast. Then we looked for a café, but the offerings didn't meet our expectations, so we went to Hungry Jacks (Burger King in Germany) and got ourselves a breakfast menu. 😅

We took our time eating, so when we arrived at the gate, we could go directly to boarding. The flight was very pleasant and we were lucky again that we didn't have a neighbor and could spread out completely. 😊 During the five-hour flight, we didn't sleep a second and passed the time playing Phase 10, listening to music, and staring holes in the wall. 

Arriving in Nadi, we had some problems with immigration. 🙄 In total, we will spend two weeks in Fiji, but for now we only booked a hostel for two nights because we want to explore the islands and don't have exact dates and schedules for the crossings. However, the officer explained to us that if you book a trip to Fiji, you have to prove your entire stay in one or more accommodations, but we didn't know that 🤷🏼‍♀️. But luckily we were lucky and we were allowed to continue without having to book new accommodations. 🙂

Arriving at the hostel, we checked in, took our luggage to the room, and then ate something. We took a look at the hostel and sat on the terrace with beer. Later in the evening, the five of us sat at the table and chatted. A young couple from Ireland, who are currently in Australia, and a young man from England, who also lives in Australia, were on the same flight with us, took the same shuttle, and are now in the same hostel as us.

However, at around 12 o'clock, Mareike and I went to our room, as we are really tired from the flight. 😴
