5.12.16 Cape Palliser

ප්‍රකාශිතයි: 04.01.2017

We want to go south to Cape Palliser because there is supposed to be a colony of sea lions there. So we set off in a convoy of 3. We stop in Palmerston North to use a public shower, which is strangely located in the city library. After a refreshing shower, we go shopping and then continue on our way.

We pass by various wineries and finally we drive on unpaved roads for some time. Then, we can already see the sea lions. They were lazily lying in the evening sun, undisturbed by us. In the twilight, we decide to hike up to the lighthouse. Exactly 249 steps. We gaze out over the ocean and slowly watch the moon rise. Then, we set up our camping tables and chairs near the beach and spend the evening together.

Claudi finally gets to see her first shooting stars. Andre alone reaches double figures on this evening :D
