Day 370 - Climbing @ Railay Beach

Haaaaaall hello!

Today we enjoyed another floating breakfast and had a really nice start to the day.

At 12:30 p.m. we set off and rode our scooter down to the harbor on the beach. There we took a boat taxi and drove a beautiful path along the coast to Railay West.

Once we arrived on land, we first had to get to Railay East, because last year's climbing guide is there. Of course we booked at the same place again (Spider Rock climbing) because we got along really well with our guide Ping.

When we booked the climbing trip, Ping was still on vacation and we thought we would go with someone else. Yesterday evening we received a Whatsapp from the owner with the information that Ping was returning early - because of us. We don't really know whether that's really true or a coincidence, but we were definitely really happy!

Since we were a little early, we bought a banana and pineapple shake and sat by the water.

Just before 2pm we ran to the store and Ping beamed when he saw us!

We briefly exchanged a few sentences, packed the material and we were ready to go! After 5-10 minutes we reached the well-known climbing spot of Railay East.

Kevin decided to stay on solid ground this time. In the meantime, he watched me, took photos and offered me any support.

Ping grinned at me and decided to send me off straight away.

As expected, the walls were worn and greasy, the edges were sharp - but the atmosphere was indescribably harmonious! Everyone smiled at everyone, everyone was friendly and supported each other - just like we remembered climbing in Railay ☺️

The climbing was a real pleasure and after I was really exhausted, we made our way back to the shop.

Once there, we said a warm goodbye to Ping, gave him a tip and headed back to Railay West.

It's really beautiful on Railay, which is why we were in no hurry to come back.

We walked a bit through the shopping street, drank a delicious cocktail and a beer in a bar and watched the hustle and bustle.

At around 5:45 p.m. we took the taxi boat back to Ao Nang.

We decided to sit on the beach for a while and then buy something to eat so we could still enjoy the beautiful view from our accommodation.
