After Mendoza and visiting Norton in Argentina, we continued southwards. This Pampa was somewhat different than what we expected, but there is definitely a LOT of space there.

A tourist hotspot has developed in the area of the mountain range 'Los Nihuiles', its reservoirs and the flowing Rio Atuel - rafting and other water sports. For Gerhard, there were some 'nice gravel roads' again.

After that, we drove through the Pampa again towards the valley direction Las Lenas (Las Lenas is the 'Lech of Argentina' - an expensive winter sports resort). However, our destination was the 'Pozo de los Animas' - a kind of sinkhole with a diameter of about 300m and a depth of 100m, which collapsed in prehistoric times. It got its name 'Tears of the Souls' from the indigenous natives.

In the region of the mountains, in the lakes of the hydropower system 'Los Nihuiles' and the Rio Atuel, some kind of a tourism hotspot has developed - rafting and other watersports. Gerhard was happy again to drive nice gravel roads.

Again through Pampa, we went to the valley of Las Lenas (Las Lenas is said to be the most expensive ski resort in Argentina). We were not interested in going there - in summertime - but wanted to see 'Pozo de los Animas' - a doline with a diameter of 300 m and a depth of more than 100 m. This sinkhole dropped already in prehistorical time.
