12th day from Cartama to Torre de Mar via Malaga

Easter Sunday, relaxed tour from the hinterland to the sea via Malaga. We haven't gotten used to the Spanish schedule yet. The difference is about 3 hours, while we get up at 7:00, have breakfast or pack our bags onto the bikes depending on the hotel, and then set off, it was still completely quiet in Malaga at 10:00. We were able to cross the big city almost without any traffic. We had booked the affordable hotel just over 50 km away. The ride went directly along the sea from Malaga, no tourist crowds, by midday we had already covered more than half and could continue slowly along the sea.

Even at lunchtime, you don't need to go to a restaurant between 11:00 and 12:00, the kitchen is not yet open and the grill fires in the retired fishing boats are slowly being lit and the tables are being cleared. Nothing happens there before 14:00. The restaurant only opens in the evening at around 20:00, the Spaniards come around 22:00 and then the restaurant fills up suddenly, and we leave 😉

The weather is great, in the morning we still ride in long sleeves at around 10°C, and by midday the temperature rises to about 20°C, ideal for cycling.

In Spain, Easter Monday is not a public holiday, this relaxes the beaches but leads to traffic during rush hour.

That's it for today, we'll continue tomorrow. In the meantime, several people are following the blog and there is positive feedback 😉

Update: Today for Easter Sunday, we treated ourselves to a good meal, salad with tuna, fried octopus, marinated octopus, and grilled sardines.
