December 6, 2021: Pals

J. On the way from L'Escala, we stopped briefly in Pals, another tip from Elena's mother. We knew nothing about this little place, except its name. But when we arrived, we encountered many Spanish families who apparently spent the holiday here. Shortly afterwards, we found out that Pals is a beautiful medieval town. It reminded us a bit of Pérouges in France and Burkheim in the Kaiserstuhl: The historic part of Pals is also located on a hill, from which you have a good view of the surrounding area, and here too there are old city gates, narrow cobblestone streets and old houses. Apparently, many of the other places in the area are similarly old and pretty, at least that's how it looked as we drove by. But we only saw Pals.

Day 51 - Total tour 3,952 km
