Trip to Sweden August 16th - September 3rd 2023/August 20th

Today we continue towards Skelleftéa. Shortly after we continue our journey, we see something extraordinary (for us Swiss) a ski jump in the middle of a village, the run-out leads directly over a car gas station in Örnsköldsvik. Between 1961 and 1992, Sweden's first ski jump was located there. The ski jump has developed into Sweden's ski jumping and combination center trained at the ski high school. Between 1985 and 1994, the ski jumping world cups were held in Örnsköldsvik. The railway line leads on a bridge over the outlet of the ski jump. Four more ski jumps were built on the back of the mountain, inaugurated in 2004. The K-90 ski jump was completed in October 2005. After a wonderful, sunny ride we reach our great house in the evening ,with its own sauna located directly on the lake. We stay here for two days what a dream.
