Day 14 Te Uremera Rainforest

Got up briefly at 03:00 in the morning to admire the beautiful starry sky in total darkness and clear visibility, simply incredible how many stars are visible here, unfortunately no photo.

After a great breakfast on the terrace of the Ohuka Lodge, we set off through the (fairly dry) rainforest on very winding and mostly unpaved roads.

Stopped at Lake Waikaremoana with a short but challenging hike to Lou's Lookout, where you could enjoy a magnificent view of the lake.

Another stop at the Aniwaniwa Falls.

The rest of the day continued on the gravel tracks mentioned earlier, later on proper roads, to our next destination Lake Taupo.
