Flora was healthy again! So we went back to Carrefour and bought our camping equipment and so much food that the car was loaded as much as our Zafira usually is when we go on vacation. Heike was on a shopping spree and didn't want (or couldn't?) listen to Christian's warnings. In the end, the kids sat with their legs folded in the back seat and we had to press several times for the trunk to close. Heike's footwell no longer exists and everyone had to squeeze in because there was no more space in the car. But, we don't want to listen to Christian! We headed to the first sightseeing spot that our very friendly landlord recommended. It was a so-called Syn Cole, a collapsed cave filled with water. It was really beautiful there. The heat that could be felt on the way from the car to the water basin disappeared immediately as soon as we took the first steps towards the water. When we were in the water, we thought small pebbles were brushing against our feet. But they were small fish that nibbled away all the loose skin and calluses on our feet. The little fish had a lot to do with some family members. The small school of fish even called for reinforcements. So in the end, at least five fish families were swimming around our family of four and gorging themselves! After that, we drove to our campsite. At that time, we didn't know where it was supposed to be. We thought we would just drive along the beaches and see where we like it. That turned out to be not so easy. In the end, at 6:30 pm (it was already pitch black at 6:00 pm), we found a spot between two groups of Roman men who were camping there. What may sound unusual at first turned out to be very pleasant. One group consisted of men between 20 and 25 years old, the other of three men aged 45-65. Both groups provided us with food and drinks. We just introduced ourselves and already had a plate of meat on one side and a bottle of orange juice on the other. We politely declined the freshly caught fish from the older men. Since the dimensions of the tent and our inflatable camping mats didn't match, Heike and Mattis slept on one inflatable camping mat in the tent, while Flora and Christian slept on the other camping mat under the open sky. The most extraordinary thing that evening was not the beautiful starry sky, but the fluorescent plankton that was washed up with every wave. It was a wonderful day and evening!
