Vietnam - Day 5

We started the day - incredibly sleepy - with breakfast, which was completely okay but nothing special, unless you're into fried noodles or fish soup with rice for breakfast.

Our cleaning lady kicked us out of our hotel room at exactly 10:30 am to clean. It's not like we wanted to snooze a bit more before starting the day, but okay. We then rented a scooter 🏍️ to explore the area a bit. We actually thought it was a good time to leave before the midday sun. However, we didn't know that the heatwave broke out between 11am and 2pm - and we got to experience it firsthand during our exploration tour. (Mirko got his first sunburn of his life - or rather, he's the first person in the world to get a sunburn, judging by his suffering).

During our outing, we came across a Catholic church - a friendly Vietnamese showed us the way and the entrance. The church was really impressive and suddenly another Vietnamese opened the entrance gates - we weren't sure at first if he did it for us. But after we went inside the church and he rang the bells and played the 'Ave Maria' in Vietnamese, we knew - yes, it was just for us. And the Vietnamese man was as happy as a clam, waving goodbye to us at least 100 times with a big grin on his face.

In the afternoon, we made ourselves comfortable by the pool. But not only the cleaning lady didn't want us to relax in peace, but also the mosquitoes that gathered to annoy us. So we went back to our room to get ready for dinner. Mirko had his first tuna - although it's questionable if it really was tuna - it certainly didn't look like it. For me, it was seafood again - which is really delicious here! We then went in search of good cocktails, which according to TripAdvisor, were available at the 'Super Bar'. And we were not disappointed! 🍹 After Caipi, Mojito, Long Island Ice Tea, and Mai Tai (and 500,000 Dong poorer - okay, it's not really cheap), we made plans with the bartenders - Mitri (a Ukrainian) and Viktor (a Russian) - to meet them at the bar the next evening and show them how Germans celebrate Apres Ski. That could be fun! 🎉 We had a really good time with both of them! Especially when they revealed their German skills from school and Viktor read us a text, which (at least we think so) was about a horse, a meadow, and either about hay or the fact that it was on the run. We hardly understood a word. But Mitri cheered him up and said that since we're from Bavaria, we just don't understand him, and he speaks very good German 😅 Well, we left him in this belief then.
