The reunion after a year.

14th December 2018: Still with a fever and headache, I went to the airport early in the morning (picture shows the meal on the plane). Today's route: from Kita Kinabalu to Kuching in the west of Borneo. There I met Benedikt, whom I met in December 2017 during a vacation in Egypt. He was now doing a semester abroad in Malaysia from August to December in Kuching, Malaysia.

And Cheese Naan (Indian cuisine). I didn't have much appetite due to the fever. I managed to eat half, and the other half was enjoyed by the two other friends of Benedikt who were waiting at the accommodation. Johannes was taken down by the flu and Nik looked after him.

15th December 2018: Today we were supposed to go for monkey feeding. I didn't sleep much because of the fever. In the end, we decided to sleep in and around noon it started raining. So we stayed in the city. Some history: Kuching means "cat city" in translation. That's why there are cat statues everywhere.

With Benedikt. We hadn't seen each other in a year. And in general, only the second time. Back then in Egypt (Africa continent) and today in Malaysia (Asia), but never in Germany. In the evening, the four of us ordered pizza and played poker with a few Swedes.

16th December 2018: The night was not restful either. I had severe neck, upper back, and shoulder pain. Nevertheless, we actually went for the monkey feeding today and that in the morning.

Unfortunately, only one monkey came out. It was 'Fruit Season'. So the monkeys can pick their own fruits. But the previous day, no monkey came, so at least we could see one.

Then we went through the landscape with the scooters to a cave, which was unfortunately under renovation. At least a few kilometers further, there was another one.

And: we went for monkey feeding again at noon. And voila: there was a gorilla lying here on the ground.

A really great experience! Especially that this female gorilla was so trusting.

Dinner. Today was a great day! And the fever is almost gone. Just some mild headaches remaining. The hot water whirlpool in the evening relieved the aches in the limbs.
