Hiking at Jaufenpass

In early October, we went on a short trip to South Tyrol to celebrate my father-in-law's milestone birthday with the entire family of my friend.

In addition to game nights, sightseeing, shopping, swimming, and sauna, a hike was of course on the agenda. We drove a good distance up to Jaufenpass because we had young children with us.

We were already beyond the tree line and hiked through barren landscapes, lined with tall grass and occasional small shrubs. Halfway there, we ran into our neighbors from back home - the world is small! We passed by many small mountain lakes and eventually reached the summit cross on rocky paths. There, we had a snack and chocolate. On the way back, it became increasingly foggy and colder. We stopped at a hut for warm drinks and Kaiserschmarrn. Finally, we arrived a bit chilly back at the car.
