Naturally Israel

As announced, today was supposed to be more fun than the past day, so our family started our first point of the day by acting like monkeys:

How did this picture happen...? Well... we parked our car a few meters before the ticket booth to a nature reserve and the lady at the gate didn't want to believe it and asked us to wait behind the car with ours until our turn...

Speaking of acting like monkeys:

The main attraction of the reserve was the spring from which the Jordan River originates and the excavations of Dan. There was also a beautiful viewpoint and a refreshing experience 💫.

but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life. -John 4:14 NIV

Here you can see the gate to the city of Dan (shortly after Solomon, Israel was divided into the Northern and Southern Kingdoms). A few meters behind it, (by chance again) the gate that stood at the time of Abraham was discovered, which he walked through when he came to help Lot.

After such a tour, we all deserve a treat, so we went back to a nearby city and ate typical specialties of the country, like falafel or hummus (keep in mind, we've been here for four days already and now we're finally eating local food 😉).
This day was planned as a relaxation day, because tomorrow will be even more exhausting. That's why, after eating, we went to another reserve, which is known for its diverse range of animals and plants.

So many pictures were taken, I think that calls for an after-Israel-pictures-viewing evening with everyone 💥.

The diversity of the country was unexpected for all of us, and that's exactly why we are so impressed by it. We haven't seen everything yet. So far, we have seen lakes and rich areas with lots of plants and animals. Now we are heading south, to the desert.
Tomorrow we will go to Caesarea, then to the Dead Sea, and then to the wilderness, which I'm sure is not as barren as it sounds ;).
The only barren thing might be that WiFi hasn't been discovered yet....

With these sunset pictures, I say goodbye for today and I'm already excited to see what the next days will bring...
