Life in Amed: Swim, Snorkel & Relax🧘‍♀️

This morning we literally got up with the chickens. There must be a stupid rooster 🐓 running around next door and it's been crowing since five in the morning. I am usually an animal lover, but I would have loved to wring its neck. Terrible 🙇🏼‍♀️

We then had breakfast very early. Homemade peanut butter was available today. Daniela and I almost emptied the entire jar 😑. Accordingly, we felt sick after breakfast.

With full peanut bellies, we got on the scooter and drove along the coastal road at a leisurely pace. Tomorrow is a public holiday here and all Balinese people have decorated their houses. It looks really great, they have decorated almost every entrance with a long bamboo stick and nice self-made ornaments. Today there will be a big party everywhere, which is the anticipation of the holiday, and tomorrow the Balinese people will pray with their families and in the temples!

Daniela had researched on the internet and found another shipwreck nearby that is also easily accessible for snorkelers. This is a Japanese reconnaissance aircraft from World War II. A sign that says "Japanese Wreck" showed us the way. We quickly put on our swimwear and started snorkeling. The wreck was quickly found and was gigantic underneath us. It was not nearly as big as the US Liberty wreck, but it was still very impressive. Daniela dived through the wreck again and took great photos of the 🐟🐠. A manta ray was lying lazily in front of the wreck 👍 and observed us. Here too, there were beautiful fish and corals to see 🤗.

From there, we drove back along the coastal road to our accommodation. We wanted to snorkel at our reef and enjoy the sun. That's what we did for the rest of the day. Since you paddle slowly through the water, we didn't even notice how far out we were on one of our snorkeling trips🙈. Whew, I really stepped on the gas towards the beach 👍.

In the afternoon, I repeatedly took my mask and snorkel and went into the water. It's just incredible what you discover every time 😮!

During the entire time we have been on Bali, there has always been a rice dish for dinner 🤨! But tonight we went to a very good trattoria for dinner 😊. Wow, it was delicious. I had a huge pizza 🍕. The dough was thin and crispy 😊. Daniela had ravioli filled with crab. They tasted fantastic too! So far, that was by far the best meal on Bali👍!

Now we are comfortably lying on the beach on the lounge chairs and considering whether we should leave tomorrow or stay for another night!? Hmmm, I think the rooster 🐓 will decide for us 😂🙈!

Many greetings from us 🤗
