Thailand 2.0 - Khao Lak 2016

In line with the motto 'Once Thailand, always Thailand', we decided to travel to Thailand for the second time from October 21 to November 4, 2016. Well, or rather, I decided :D Just like with my mother before, I collected money from all our friends and relatives for Luke's birthday and gave him the trip as a gift. Where exactly? It had to be Khao Lak again! We had fallen so in love with this place the first time, we just had to go back.

Go Asia!

And so we flew from Frankfurt via Dubai to Phuket in October. This time with Emirates, who were very good, but not as good as Singapore Airlines. Although the flight was divided better this time (6 hours to Dubai, 6 hours to Phuket), it seemed somehow more exhausting than the first time. Perhaps the first signs of aging?? :D Anyway, the flight went smoothly. We arrived safely in Phuket, where we were greeted by the familiar wall of humid, warm air.

Homecoming

As soon as we left the airport, familiar scents and smells overwhelmed us. We were back! After longing for it for two years, we were finally there again. Well, not completely. First, we had to go to Khao Lak. Our transfer was already waiting for us and off we went. It was already dark, so we became quite sleepy during the drive. Before we knew it, we arrived at our hotel. I booked the Moracea for us. Just a few meters away from our first visit, the Laguna Resort. Also with direct beach access and breakfast.

Rainy weather

Unfortunately, the mood was dampened a bit by the fact that it was pouring rain when we arrived. The weather forecast, which I had already studied in Germany, didn't promise much good either. And the rest of the trip would show that we didn't have as much luck this year as we did last time. And that, even though we arrived a bit later. The rainy season should have been over by then. Well, should have...

First rest

So on this stormy evening, we were taken to our room. We even received a little something to eat, even though we only booked with breakfast. Since we couldn't fall asleep right away, we started unpacking a bit. Eventually, sleep came over us and we rested for the first day of our vacation!
