Week 13 at the surf camp in Santa Cruz, Portugal

प्रकाशित: 11.02.2022

This week was completely different and special. I had decided to visit a surf camp. I had never surfed before and really wanted to try it out. I found the Cliff Surf Camp, which also offers surf courses in the winter. This is not common here, as the waves are completely different than in the summer, but of course I didn't know that in advance.

Due to the conditions, it was not that easy. But on the first day, I managed to ride several waves. Of course, not executed well technically, but it was still great for the initial motivation. Since it is off-season, there were only two of us in the surf course. In the summer, there can be up to 5 people with one surf instructor. So, we were lucky to have almost private lessons.

I can highly recommend the camp, the quality of the surf instructors is more than good, we had video analyses of our surf attempts and stretching sessions.

I definitely made progress in surfing during my time here at the camp. Let's see if I will take another course in the future to work on my skills.

The waves were very strong and sometimes really high throughout the week. That's why we skipped the surf lesson on Thursday and instead went to Nazaré for the Big Wave Competition 2022. So, I had the chance to be in Nazaré for the second time and this time I really got to see big waves. I will definitely not forget that day anytime soon.

Unfortunately, I cannot upload videos here. If anyone wants to see a video from Nazaré, feel free to message me :-)

Tomorrow, I will hit the road again and I am excited!
