Well, did you miss us?

Just have a few days off and relax on the beach. What could be nicer? Our hotel in Trincomalee was right on the beach.

As always, the furry friends are there

After relaxing all day on Monday, we dressed up a bit in the evening and went to Fernando's Bar. You can imagine the whole thing more like an area with tables and chairs directly on the beach, which is surrounded by several food and cocktail stands. Both were very tasty ;)

On Tuesday we wanted to be a little more active and went to Fort Frederick. On the highest mountain of this former Portuguese fortress there is a large Hindu temple to which Hindus regularly make pilgrimages. As in every temple, shoes must be taken off and knees and shoulders must be covered - if necessary with colorful cloths.

We then walked down the mountain, past several deer and of course dogs, to the entrance gate, which, with its view of the sea, looks a bit like the gate to heaven.

Back in Nilaveli in the evening we of course had to go back to our favorite little restaurant from the first evening. There Feli ordered a sea food platter and was amazed at the size of the shrimp, which were actually caught fresh that day.

Unfortunately, we had to leave on Wednesday. The train took us back to Kurunegala in just under 5 hours. Our special highlight were the rotating rows of seats, which you can turn in one direction or the other, as is funny.

Do some quick shopping and then head back to the cottage and go to bed. Tomorrow we will work again!
