Today it was time to get up early! We had to take the bus at 7:30 am. For anyone who says it's not early: we are three girls with only one bathroom.

But joking aside. This bus is used by many people on the way to work, so it is correspondingly full. And anyone who has ever watched videos of very similar traffic in India can get a rough idea of how we felt on that bus. We're glad we didn't have to repurpose our bags...

When we arrived at the clinic, everyday life began. Walk from room to room and treat whatever comes along. I (Isi) had a hangover in the morning because my circulation didn't want to cooperate today. But everyone looked after me very kindly, I was given a bed, a fan and a homemade ginger-lime shot. The latter was nicely sour and spicy, but definitely did its job. After that I was able to get started again. In the meantime, Feli and Melody had already started with their patient, who was supposed to keep them busy all day. 8 teeth in the upper jaw, all of which had to be ground down for a large bridge construction, three of which required root canal treatment. At some point a laser was unpacked, which we didn't really know what it was for. After I was on my feet again, I was able to get a little taste of dentistry because there was a patient waiting for me in every room, with fillings, root canal treatments, orthodontics (yes, you read that right! Maybe that will happen after all?) or... Hold hands. After 7 hours of work (of course interrupted by the obligatory tea time) we were able to finish work, eat something, shop, sleep and go to the pool.

Now some Netflix and then sometime in bed. Tomorrow is a national holiday here (Navam Perahera), let's see if we can go celebrate it somewhere.
